Around 350 Pied Wagtails where in the lower Pildacre fields this morning with at least 350 birds in a single field.Wether their regular food is being blown from the water treatment works nearby on to the fields its difficult to say.

A Barn Owl was quartering the fields in the lower half of Runtlings Ossett this morning at around 08:15.It would be nice if this lone bird could somehow find itself a partner as it seems there are adequate breeding sites in this part of Ossett as well as a very good and plentyfull food supply.

With just about the most exiting Autumn for birds on the East coast ever recorded its seems almost embarrassing that there has been little to get exited about on my local patch.

I cant remember having such a quiet time time for birds in this part o the Calder Valley as it has been but with Winter visitors arriving in the next couple of weeks Who knows .
