A visit to Ossett Sewage Works today produced a single Greenshank,single Common Sandpiper and 2 Green Sandpipers.Despite very limited suitable habitat its a promising start to the migration season in our area and it is hoped with coverage we will produce som intereesting records

A visit to dewsbury Sewage Works late afternoon yesterday produced single Little Egret feeding on the river calder by the new Iron brige near Hotworks Mill Earlsheaton.5 Green Sandpipers on the Calder near Hotworks mill and 6 Yellow wagtails on the sewage works.

A little Egret was feeding on Dewsbury Sewage works yesterday afternoon.It was feeding on the sprinkler beds at the eastern end of the works.Also 5 Green Sandpipers and 2 Common Sandpipers were on the banks of the Calder near Earlsheaton.Phylloscopus Warblers are starting to build up in the area...

A Little Egret was roosting last night on the banks of the River Calder a few hundred yards from Dewsbury Town Centre.
Its the 2nd day a Little Egret has been present in this area.

A very vocal Cuckoo was in full calling mode in a garden opositte the Black Horse Pub in Thornhill Edge at 04:00 yesterday.The bird stayed calling for around 20 minutes before flying off in to the woodland below.

A Female Goosander with 5 chicks was on the River Calder near Healy Road Ossett this morning.The bird coasted around the Sand martin colony site before disapearing towards Horbury bridge.
