It was good to hear African Golden Oriole singing in the compound for around 10 minutes this morning.We arrived at Tanji around 10:15 and immediately went to the beach to try and get some sort of count of the seabirds present.
Royal Tern numbers came out at arouind 450 birds with Caspian terns...

2 Wattled Plover were displaying over the compound first thing at 07:30 as were 2 very aerobatic Shikra .Black Kites are carrying nesting material from the compound and a single Lanner is patrolling the sky directly above.There is a shortage of domestic chickens here at the moment caused by some...

This took place around 09:30 onwards arriving at Lamin Lodge at noon.
In our compound first thing 2 Bronze Winged Mannakin,2 Red Eyed Doves,2 Palm Doves,1 Gonolek.
4 Plantain Eaters were in flight above the compound and a single Lanner was hunting from compound to compound more or less at around 30...

Very noticeable this morning not an Osprey in sight.The whole beach had an end of season look about it somehow.

Arrived in thecGambia around 14:30 yesterday afternoon.What a nice feeling when you step off the plane and feel all that lovely sunshine and heat.
The Wind is coming from the North so there is a nice cooling breeze.As usual the sky is full of Hooded Vultures and Black kites so I am looking forwards...

2 Adult Whooper Swans flew in from the South East at 11:10 on to the central lagoons on Dewsbury Sewage works this morning.This is the first record for about 8 years for this species on this site(the last one being an immature bird which stayed for 1 week.

Whilst filling the bird feeders in the centre of Kerries Reserve at Ossett I couldnt help but notice the amount of largeish bird prints in the mud below the feeders.The mud was awash with variouse spillages from the feeders including Sunflower and other types of bird seeds.
