Hirrundines ans Swifts are still feeding in good numbers on Dewsbury Sewage Works.Allthough slightly reduced there are still some 650/700 Swallows,around 600 Swifts and some 350 House martins.Elsewhere there are now 3 Whitethroats on Kerries Foods reserve at Ossett with 3 singing male...

Despite continuous heavy rain a brief trip to Horbury Wyke yielded excellent views of a Little Owl on the old mill building on Duckford Lane.

Horbury Wyke had a White Wagtail on the 21st of April and this was observed by members of Huddersfield Birdwatchers Club.A Grasshopper Warbler was reeling at Horbury Sewage Works on friday the 20th.

If the heaps of compost near to the Eastern border of Dewsbury Sewage Works have any purpose then at least they appear to attract loads of small small nsects and in doing so provide a feast for any passing insect eating birds.
