Its worth a visit


First Winter Thrushes arrive on my local patch

A party of 42 Redwings came in from the North East this afternoon and landed very breifly in the main copse at Kerries Foods plant this afternoon( 15:20)

These took off very quickly after been pursued immediately by an awaiting Sparrow Hawk and continued flying South accompanied cby 9 Blackbirds and some 9/10 Chaffinches.

On The local Sewage Works at Dewsbury is the following

59 Mallard,68 Teal,7 Shoveller and 3 Mandarin Ducks(the latter spending much of their time on the river Calder just below Saville Town.Also on the works 5 Grey Wagtails,9 Common Snipe but no sign of any Green Sandpipers at the moment.
